Tips and Tricks for Modern Device Management

Speaker: John DeTroye

Level: Foundational, Lecture

Excerpt: If you are still trying to get that 1-1 planning done, you need to understand the workflows, VPP, DEP, and your options.

Description: With the geometric increase in devices coming into Education, sysadmins are becoming overwhelmed with the need to meet the educational mission with properly planned technology deployment lifecycle. This session expands on last year’s “1-1 reality check” with a series of possible workflows that can help IT avoid clashes between the needs of the institution and the realities of modern device management. We will dig into realistic workflows for cart, 1-1, and BYOD deployments. We will also touch on the requirements that IT cannot escape from – Apple’s DEP, VPP, and licensing requirements – and how those affect deployment planning.
