Description: If you’ve ever wanted to learn Ruby but you’re not sure where to start, or if you’ve tried Ruby, but you’re not sure what to do with it. We’ll cover basic Ruby concepts like strings, integers, arrays, and hashes. Then look at some practical examples of how Ruby can help you do admin things!

This session is meant as an introduction to Ruby, no previous experience required. By the end of this session you’ll know which version of Ruby you have installed, how to use a Ruby interactive prompt, how to set up a text editor as an IDE, where to find tools and resources, and hopefully some motivation to start experimenting with Ruby on your own.
