How to infect a Mac

Speakers: Thomas Reed

Level: Intermediate, Lecture

Excerpt: Learn how malware infects Macs, so you can spot the signs.

Description: A look at how malware infects Macs, with specific examples using malware from the last few years. The goal will be to learn about two aspects of malware: initial infection and maintaining persistence. This information can be used to better understand how your users may get infected in the first place, so that you can take steps to prevent that. It will also help you learn what to look for when assessing a potentially infected system, especially in cases where you believe the system may be infected but anti-malware software finds nothing.
