Managing Macs with Puppet – Graham Gilbert

This is the story of how pebble.it decided upon Puppet, how it has become the core of our Mac management, and how we use Facter for detailed reporting on the Macs we manage. We’ll look at how we use Puppet to perform common tasks such as installing printers, ensuring our admin user is present, deploying Configuration Profiles and bootstrapping Munki. We’ll also look at how Puppet can be extended to return custom information about the Mac and then integrate that with Puppet to dynamically configure Macs.
