Managing FileVault 2 on Mountain Lion – Rich Trouton

With the release of OS X Mountain Lion, additional management capabilities for FileVault 2 were introduced through the new fdesetup utility. This tool offers a number of new command-line abilities for administrators to manage FileVault 2. In this session, we’ll cover how how FileVault 2’s cryptographic keys work as well as examinefdesetup’s major functions in OS X Mountain Lion. We’ll also cover how JAMF is using fdesetup in Casper to provide enterprise management of FileVault 2.  (75 Minute Lecture)

Rich Trouton has been doing Macintosh system and server administration for over a decade and has supported Macs in a number of different environments, including university, government, medical research and advertising.
